Where I Am

My Christmas commissions offer is officially closed for the season! Thanks to everyone who played along ;P

Where have I been lately?

Studio Sunday
The Jackblag
The Virtual Artist Alliance

Looking for freelance work left and right. Keeping myself busy in between jobs.

Also, still planning the wedding. We're hitting the courthouse to make it official on the 26th, and the ceremony/reception thing will be taking place in September. Needless to say, I'm bouncing off the walls with excitement :)

Won't You Guide My Sleigh This Year?

Oh my, how I've got the Economic Downfall Blues! So much so, that Christmas for my loved ones is in danger of becoming a vacuous, present-less, yule-tide mess.

THE SOLUTION?!:

I'm taking commission requests. You've probably seen my plea in some of my most recently posted works, but here it is again, with a little more detail:

What Can I Do For YOU?

:bulletblue:I will draw and/or digitally paint nearly anything for anyone. I've got years of both traditional education and self-taught learning under my belt. Visual Problem-Solving is what I do best!

:bulletblue:I will draw anything from "original character portraits" to "a cactus surfing on top of a Narwhal while eating a tomato and mozzarella salad done in the style of a Hokusai woodcut print" and everything in between.

:bulletblue:If I don't know how to draw something, I will figure it out just for you, charge less than normal, and thank you personally for the learning experience. You have nothing to lose!

I Do Have Limits, Few As They may Be:

:bulletred: I will not accept requests for artwork featuring excessive violence, gore, hardcore sex, racism, bigotry, or strongly offensive material. Common sense is your best friend, and I will be glad to answer any questions you may have if my guidelines aren't clear for you.

:bulletred: The work that I make for you will be strictly for PERSONAL USE and may not be sold or redistributed in any fashion. Your payment will be your legal agreement to this statement. Additionally, by accepting these terms through payment, you understand that I may put your works into my portfolio (on AND/OR off DeviantArt). I will not use your artworks for profit outside of the original sale.

:bulletred: I will only accept up front payment (that is, after you've told me what you want and BEFORE the artwork is made). Apologies, but I only accept PayPal payments at this time.

Pricing:

Prices will vary depending on what you want. The following is a rough idea of price ranges for types of work, but they are subject to go up or down depending on the circumstances:

:bulletyellow: Pencil work/polished sketch/line drawing: $5-15

:bulletyellow: Colored portrait: $10-20

:bulletyellow: Full-color illustration: $25-50

Contact:

You can either send me a note here on DA or send an email to lovesickrobot@gmail.com. Whichever you use, please make the subject "Commission Request" and tell me what you're looking for in the body of the message.

I bet you're feeling the heat from the hard times too, aren't ya? I bet you're feeling the blues, too, and you want to save your money for other things? That's totally understandable! If this isn't the kind of gift/service you're looking for, you can also bring Wintertime Cheer to my loved ones and I by spreading the word! If you think that I've got what someone else is looking for, please let them know! I'll be forever grateful to you :)

Thanks for reading! Ho ho ho!

Wedding Crap, Part 1

  • Drinking: oolong
I've got approximately 11 months to prepare for this wedding... and already I've begun to procrastinate. So far, these are the things that I want to get out of the way first:

:bulletblue: Make sketches of my dress. I scored BIG TIME when one of my best friend's mom's offered to make my dress... and only for the cost of materials! I'm going to devise a way to slip her some cash for her time, but until then, I have less than a week to come up with ideas for my wedding dress. I have NO idea what kind of dress will look best on me. Let the experimentation begin!

:bulletblue:Design/make engagement announcements and Save the Dates. I had no idea that this was important... I was under the impression that people got the wedding invite and that's it. Not so! I guess people like to be informed of these things well ahead of time so they don't, you know, plan to get their nails done while you're getting married or something.

:bulletblue:EVERYTHING ELSE! Holy carp, there's a ton of details that go into planning a wedding. People say that attention to detail is important... but christ on a cracker, it seems like the whole wedding is composed of tiny, inconcievable-until-the-last-minute details. Good thing I've got an army of people to assist me in my wedding endeavors :mwahaha:

Thanks for reading!
